PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. – Prince George’s County native and DeMatha Catholic High School alumni, Chase Young, is headed to Super Bowl LVIII. This marks the fifth time a DeMatha graduate has played in the Super Bowl.
The 49ers defensive end and former Commanders player will play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Young, who attended DeMatha during his junior and senior years, helped make the school the number four-ranked high school football team in the country. Young also played for Dematha’s basketball team.
Young would go on to play for Ohio State before being drafted second overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders. On November 1, 2023, Young was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2024 special compensatory third-round draft pick.
